In 2021, the Foundation focused its efforts on two major pillars: bridging the digital divide that isolates our seniors and celebrating intergenerational knowledge transfer. Whether it was providing computer training or sharing family stories, each project aimed to put seniors back at the heart of the community.

➤ Digital Inclusion and Access to Rights

The Digibike: Technology at the Heart of Neighborhoods (Association: ICIÉLÀ)

Inauguration of a connected electric cargo bike traveling through the neighborhoods of Roubaix. A true mobile digital hub, it allows outreach to seniors to combat digital illiteracy. Through targeted questionnaires and intuitive educational materials, the association identifies real needs to guide beneficiaries toward appropriate training.

Modernization of the Talking Book Library (Association: Les Donneurs de Voix)

Support for modernizing the IT system of the Lille Talking Book Library. This support allows retired volunteers to record audiobooks (novels, poetry, history) under better conditions for "audiobook listeners" whose eyesight no longer allows them to read in the traditional way.

➤ Transmission and Life Stories

"Our Seniors Tell Stories": Tales for Tomorrow (Association: Histoire De Sourire)

Support for a creative project where residents of senior living facilities wrote and illustrated original stories for their grandchildren. Despite the distance, this project fostered unique connections and proved that imagination knows no age.

The Grandparents Observatory (Association: EGPE)

Official launch of an observatory dedicated to grandparenthood at a conference held at the National Assembly. This project studies the pivotal role of seniors in the modern family and proposes recommendations to better value their social role and facilitate intergenerational solidarity.

The "Babalias": Surrogate Grandmothers (Association: EGPE)

Support for the deployment of "Babalias," volunteers who support isolated expectant mothers. These "grandmothers of the heart" offer a reassuring presence and experienced support during the end of pregnancy and the first months of a child's life.

➤ Health, nutrition, and community

Shared Meals: Cooking for Better Eating (Association: Shared Meals)

Organizing cooking workshops followed by shared dinners in independent living residences. By involving seniors in menu selection and preparation, the association combats malnutrition, often caused by loneliness and the loss of enjoyment in cooking for oneself.

Home Food Assistance (Association: Lichtblick)

In Germany, the Foundation supported the delivery of balanced meal baskets directly to the homes of isolated seniors in rural areas. This service combines quality nutrition with a friendly visit to combat geographical isolation.

Entertainment and Dancing at Les Bateliers (Association: Les Blouses Roses)

Installation of a "Mélo" music kiosk at the Les Bateliers residence in Lille. With over 3,000 songs and interactive games, this mobile device transforms the hallways and common rooms into festive spaces for sharing memories, boosting the morale of residents and caregivers.
