Supported Project: The ‘Pot’âgé’ at Les Augustines

The Temps de Vie association mobilises more than 3,000 professionals and volunteers to support over 10,000 families each year. It has been working for over 30 years to develop social and health services and is committed to innovation, local cooperation and respect for individuals.

Our foundation is delighted to support the “Le Pot’âgé des Augustines” project

What does the project involve?

Located in the garden of the Résidence Saint Augustin in Boulogne-sur-Mer, this project is creating around ten vegetable plots adapted for people with reduced mobility (PRM), enabling residents, their loved ones and members of the public from partner organisations to garden together. The initiative is based on a partnership with the association “Le Tiers-Lieux Nourricier du Boulonnais” and forms part of a wider effort to green the Brequerecque neighbourhood.

Every Friday afternoon (and during the school holidays with intergenerational workshops), participants will plant, tend and harvest fruit and vegetables, which they will then cook in a workshop. A collection of recipes will be published at the end of the

year. The scheme is designed to be accessible to everyone, regardless of mobility level, and to create a moment of sharing, conviviality and knowledge-sharing.

Expected outcomes

To promote the well-being of older people by engaging them in an outdoor, inclusive activity.

To combat social isolation through intergenerational group activities.

To stimulate creativity, motor skills and curiosity, whilst restoring a sense of purpose to daily life and activities.

To create genuine encounters between generations – children and older people alike – centred on nature, a garden and a shared living space.
