Together with the project’s patron, we visited the Isabeau residence in Roubaix to witness a deeply moving event: the presentation ceremony for the "life stories" compiled by the association *Ce Qui Compte Vraiment* (What Truly Matters). It was a day celebrating a full year of conversation, attentive listening, and intergenerational bonding.

1. High school students as keepers of memories

Throughout the school year, student volunteers visited the residents of the care home every Wednesday. Over the course of these meetings, a precious bond—sometimes as strong as the relationship with a grandparent—developed within each pair.

The young people’s mission? To listen carefully to their elders' memories, anecdotes, and life journeys in order to put them into writing. These exchanges resulted in a genuine life story published as a book, thereby bringing to life the passing on of memories from one generation to the next.

2. Emotion and connection at the official book presentation

At the ceremony, which brought together residents, young people, care staff, and volunteers, there was a palpable sense of emotion as each book was presented. Seeing these printed volumes—indelible records of each senior’s memories and life journey—filled both the residents and the young writers with immense pride.

To conclude this wonderful day, participants and guests gathered for refreshments. It is moments like these that give true meaning to our Foundation’s mission.

The presence of the patron at this event illustrates the commitment of Damartex Group employees, who are eager to get involved on the ground alongside associations that bring solidarity to life every day.

A big thank you to the "Ce Qui Compte Vraiment" association, the teams at the Isabeau de Roubaix residence, and all the high school students for creating this wonderful project!
