We had the opportunity to interview Nathalie (who is very involved with the Foundation) on two occasions. She has served as a mentor for two projects
INTERVIEW 1:
Tell us about the project:
The goal is to fund 12 sports therapy programs for older cancer patients over a 10-month period, at a rate of two sessions per week, in an outpatient setting within the Lille metropolitan area, in partnership with CAMI Sport & Cancer.
Tell us about your experience as a sponsor:
I wanted to champion this project because it aligns with the Foundation’s mission to encourage physical activity among seniors to improve their well-being. I am convinced that sports can improve seniors’ quality of life in general, and particularly for cancer patients.
What did you enjoy?
The collaboration with CAMI’s partner and the Foundation’s representatives. Developing the project and seeing it through to implementation.
Your experience in 3 words:
Well-being, solidarity, and quality of life.

INTERVIEW 2
Can you describe the project you’re supporting?
The project involves creating vegetable garden plots for residents in the garden of the Résidence Saint Augustin in Boulogne-sur-Mer and organizing intergenerational activities there.
The project follows the rhythm of the seasons, from planting to harvesting fruits and vegetables, and continues with cooking workshops.
Residents participate alongside their loved ones and children from local schools.
What particularly touched you about this project?
I’ve already sponsored a similar project for Les Petits Frères des Pauvres and saw firsthand the many benefits of gardening for seniors with declining independence. What I liked about this project is the daily sense of well-being it brings to residents, the intergenerational aspect of sharing with loved ones and children, and the sustainable nature of the initiative—ensuring it bears fruit in the long term.
What would you say to a colleague who’s hesitant to get involved in sponsoring a project?
To jump right in without hesitation! The foundation is there to help us put together the application. And above all, it’s a particularly rewarding human experience—full of encounters, emotions, and the feeling of truly bringing joy and well-being to the project’s beneficiaries.
