The association, Focus4Hope, has the potential to significantly improve mental well-being by reintegrating isolated seniors into their communities. Its goal is to combat loneliness and isolation by giving older people the opportunity to socialize in a variety of settings. Focus4Hope works closely with local care homes and assisted living facilities, as well as its own network of service users and charitable organizations, to identify participants. They have established a program of events that includes opportunities to interact with different generations. The young volunteers are primarily students, children, and regular volunteers, thus fostering intergenerational connections.
Supported Project #1: Focus4Seniors. In this program, the Foundation funded three outings for approximately one hundred participants. These outings take place at local points of interest, historical or cultural sites, or other relevant locations. Participants are provided with transportation and lunch.
Supported Project #2: Combating Isolation The foundation also funded three afternoon tea gatherings with entertainment such as singers and games like bingo. Two hundred beneficiaries were able to enjoy these activities.
Supported Project #3: Regular Support Program for 55+ This is an ongoing support program for seniors aged 55 and over. The goal is to provide regular essential services and support to vulnerable older adults aged 55 and over. Within this framework, the Foundation funded 200 essential food parcels.
