Association: What Really Matters

Supported Project: Every Story Really Matters

The association What Really Matters aims to encourage everyone to reflect on what truly matters in life, by promoting the transmission of essential values and the sharing of experiences.

When high school students preserve and pass on the memories of our elders

✦ An intergenerational writing project

The Every Story Really Matters (CHCV) project invites high school students to meet weekly with residents of nursing homes to write, through their conversations, the life story of an elderly person. At the end of the school year, these stories become real life books, published and given to the participants. A tribute to memory and intergenerational transmission.

✦ Building Connections Between Two Generations

Beyond writing, this project offers a space for listening and sharing between two generations

often separated. Young people learn to gather intimate stories and understand a life's journey, while older adults find a listening ear and the joy of seeing their stories valued. Each encounter becomes a source of emotions, memories, and mutual learning.

✦ A Strong Human and Social Impact

The project addresses two major needs:

  • Breaking the isolation of older adults by offering them authentic and regular human connections.

  • Strengthening the confidence and commitment of young people by developing their writing skills, listening skills, and empathy.

Thus, CHCV contributes to promoting intergenerational living together, while valuing individual memory as a collective asset.

We are very happy and proud to be able to lead this project.
