Tell us about the project!
“Soleil d’Automne is a nursing home located in Erlies. It provides care for elderly residents who require assistance as they lose their independence. The main goal of the project was to give seniors a way to communicate with their loved ones. To this end, the foundation funded the purchase of a tablet equipped with two apps. These highly intuitive apps work in the same way as a social media platform. Seniors can thus create a message simply by inserting text and images. They can then communicate with their families on a daily basis, while learning to use new technologies.”
Tell us about your experience as a sponsor
“I’d always wanted to sponsor a nonprofit, but I’d never had the chance. One day, I heard that a stalled project was looking for a sponsor, so I jumped at the opportunity! ”
“After being appointed to take over this project, I went straight to meet with the organization. They wanted to mark the occasion by hosting a tea party. The seniors had been invited to spend the afternoon there. After a speech by the nursing home director, we announced to all the residents that the foundation would be providing them with a tablet. »
“I had the honor of representing the foundation by presenting the check to the director.”
What did you like about it?
I enjoyed getting to know a nonprofit, meeting new people, and specifically the residents. Human values are very important to me. I felt useful because I was able to do my part to help the elderly break out of isolation by enabling them to maintain ties with their families. Interaction is very important, and I think we need to ensure everyone’s well-being.
