A few months ago, we joined forces with the charity Les Amis de l’EHPAD du Val de Loue to launch the “Silverfit Alois” project. This is a physical and cognitive stimulation tool specially designed for older people (particularly those with Alzheimer’s). Today, we are delighted to share with you the progress of this wonderful initiative.

A look back at an emotionally rich experience with Stéphanie Gradoz, the project’s patron.

The device, delivered in July and commissioned in August, is an interactive system using a camera and a touchscreen to offer tailored physical and recreational exercises. In particular, it enables:

Personalised motor and cognitive exercises to be carried out.

Agitation to be calmed through visual and auditory content.

Social bonds to be rebuilt between residents, carers and families.

Testimonial: A day in the life of Stéphanie Gradoz, patron of the project.

An employee of the Damartex Group and patron of this initiative, she visited the facility to observe how the tool was being used. She was able to share special moments with the 14 residents benefiting from the programme.

“I was able to take part in a sports session. On the agenda: a memory game, mental arithmetic exercises and even some dancing before tea,” she explains.

She highlights the immediate impact of the device on the atmosphere in the unit: the music fosters group cohesion and generates feelings of joy and achievement.

Tangible and encouraging results

After a few months of use (around three times a week), the care teams are already noticing a significant improvement:

A renewed sense of sociability: some residents who used to never leave their rooms are now coming out to take part in the sessions.

A visible sense of calm: at the end of the day, the projection of relaxing images such as an aquarium or a log fire helps to soothe behavioural disturbances.

Enhanced independence: whilst some still require assistance, others are beginning to perform the exercises on their own, thereby boosting their self-confidence.

The care team has received comprehensive training to familiarise themselves with all of Silverfit’s features. Today, the device is fully integrated into the unit’s care programme.

The Foundation’s commitment

By supporting this type of initiative, the On Seniors’ Side Foundation reaffirms its mission: to encourage activity among older people to improve their well-being and foster social connections. We are proud to support the Val de Loue care home in this digital transformation for the benefit of people.

It is a source of great pride to see that this project is fulfilling its mission: to stimulate cognitive abilities whilst fostering social connections and well-being
